What TraceGD is all about

Trace Genetic Diseases (TraceGD) is essentially a program to point out the amino acid changes caused in the user given protein sequence(s) due to mutations in their corresponding DNA sequence(s) and predict the resulting genetic disease.

A quick how-to-use
( If user wants to use it online )

1. Go to the program here.
2. Choose the protein name(s) for which user has the protein sequence(s).
3. Paste the protein sequence(s) in the corresponding input boxes.
4. Hit the search button, view results in the sequence and mutations tab.

( If user has downloaded the software locally )

1. Go to Swiss-prot
2. Type the protein name and organism name in the search box (e.g. type "CFTR human" for searching the protein Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Regulator in Human) and hit search button.
3. On the result page click on the "Accession" number of a reviewed result(in the "Status" column it must have a yellow star )
4. The protein's html file will appear. In the address bar, type ".txt" at the end of the address and click enter, or click on the "Text" link(coloured in yellow) at the right-top corner.
