Release notes:
As some users started to ask us how to install and configure java under Linux, we decided to prepare this Linux binary installer. It contains the suitable java runtime environment, installs Sight binaries and documentation and creates shortcuts for Gnome and KDE.
Unix and Linux experts, do not read the rest! TO DOWNLOAD, you may need to click the hyperlink with the right mouse button and choose "save as" (click with the left mouse button might result just showing garbage in a browser). After you save the file, change its permissions to executable. In some graphic file manager, usually it is enough to click the right mouse button on the file and choose something like "Properties" in the local menu. Then look for the "Permissions" tab. You can also change permissions from the command line (see Linux manuals, there are many in the Internet). After you do this, try double clicking on the file name. Wait for some time, maybe the installer will start. If not, open the terminal, change to the folder where you stored the downloaded file and type:
./installer_211.bin
If it still does not start, write to audriusa@bioinformatics.org.
Changelog:
This version has improved xml transform wizard. It is now more adapted for cases when the document has multiple tags with identical names, and for finding the desired information the values of the attributes and nested tags must be checked. We also integrated a BioQuery that generates robots for submitting various queries to NCBI. SSH plug-in (JSch) is replaced by the newer, more reliable version.
