In this role, you will triage support requests and provide one-on-one consultation regarding use of scientific computing systems, applications, and services. Support and consultation may include researching scientific computing or bioinformatics analysis problems and responding with answers or interventions. You will also be responsible for escalating issues to senior team members when appropriate, tracking requests through to resolution, and analyzing request data for trends and common system problems. This is a client-facing position and the incumbent must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have broad understanding of bioinformatics tools and scientific computing systems, including, HPC systems; Linux; scripting languages and diverse bioinformatics applications.

    • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly metrics of help desk system usage and provide inputs for customer reports.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge bases for general support issues through updates to Wikis, InfoSites, User forums, and application, program, or system-specific documentation.
