Hi Tim,
I'm rolling my own BioLinux by adding the repositories to sources.list. When installing galaxy on 10.04 I get the following;
---
$ sudo apt-get install galaxy-server-all
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
galaxy-server-all: Depends: python-rpy but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: ucsc-tools-non-free but it is not installable
Recommends: laj but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
---
The error is because galaxy needs a very specific version of python-rpy (due to a cascade to r-base-core) that I can get as follows;
$ sudo apt-get install python-rpy=1.0.3-17lucid1
galaxy-server-all now installs correctly.
Best,
will
