[Bioclusters] Apple/Genentech BLAST

While we are on the discussion of clusters and development efforts for a
variety of platforms, I found Warren Gish's comments on Mac OS X
interesting.

Can someone out there with a OS X machine see if it really is limited to
2 GB files?

32 bit file systems are a showstopper (as are 32 bit development
architectures) for me.
