Oh, now I see what you mean.

So the first method will check the type, and then call the second one 
or return nil (or whatever).  In that case my 'fix' in 
BCToolTranslatorDNA can be reverted. I'll leave that up to you Charles, 
so seem to be better knowing what you are doing ;-)
