Topic: Congrats

Nice to see that someone has taken on QwikiWiki, I always liked it and thought there was great potential in it.

Have you made any improvements, or are planning any development?..new features?

I notice the little WYSIWYG buttons have disappeared...or is there somewhere I should turn them on in the config?

Be interested to know whether you have any plans for LabWiki.

Re: Congrats

Nice to hear from a QwikiWiki user :) Yes, it did have great potential. I modified QwikiWiki 1.4 for features like page deletion, backup maintenance, and HTML standards back in 2004 (that's how I learnt PHP). When David Barrett released newer versions, I incorporated only those features which I thought would benefit the wiki (http://stanxterm.aecom.yu.edu/wiki/index.php)'s users (so no WYSIWYG). LabWiki is basically that fork. Perhaps only a couple of people administer a LabWiki installation, so there hasn't been a new feature since 2005/06.

Re: Congrats

Yes, I realise it has little use (more the shame) so probably hasn't had much development.

Well I must admit I did like the little WYSIWYG buttons - I'm not a great fan of WYSIWYG usually but they just helped out a little, here. The other really useful feature was the 'create template' function.

What was missing was anchorable, individually editable sections of a page....and a page TOC for in-page navigation.

Still I guess it was all a work-in-progress at the time. i wish I'd learned PHP to be able to help out, but I'm just not that clever. I'm a writer or words not code!

Never mind, good to see the embers have not died completely!

By the way, is this forum a home-made script, too?

cheers

No, it's PunBB (http://punbb.org).
