Hi, Tim.

There is a bug in Unity/iBus under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The GUI keyboard
layout defaults to US, even if it is set to and displayed as e.g.
"English UK":

I followed the advice here and disabled keyboard input via iBus:

  Settings / Language Support / Keyboard input method system: none

[The bug doesn't seem to affect the keyboard layout in Gnome Terminal]

Still upgrading my workstation...
