The MIT Introduction to Computer Science and Programming
http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/
course is excellent for Python though it is not short. If you only
want programming and not so much computing side of it then you can
skip lectures related to complexity and algorithms.
