[Biococoa-dev] modernizing BioCocoa

I looked at doing a lot of these things when I first joined, but with the requirement that everything be able to compile by gnu objc+openstep I didn't know what's allowed or not and then life got in my way and I haven't even looked at the code I started to branch so long ago...
