Subject: [ghemical-devel] Bug report and pt_BR Translation of Ghemical

Tommi,

I am not sure if I will be here off topic, but I would ask You:

1) We are building a new version of a Educational Debian Distro
in Brazil. The first Version (Etch based) was OK.

BUG report:

Debian Etch => Working well with

ghemical 2.10 with library Open Babel 2.0.2

Debian Lenny => Error by exporting .pdb files:

ghemical 2.95 with library Open Babel 2.1.1

Is this a know issue?
^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hello,
I was not aware of this issue ; so thanks for the report.
I will look at it. (I just switched to Lenny myself as well...)

Speaking about time and schedules, I'm sorry to say that I have only very limited possibilities to
work with ghemical for the next 6 months. It's possible for me to use just a few (2-4) hours per
week for ghemical. Nevertheless, I will do what I can...

2) I am looking forward to receive the .POT in order to translate into Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR)

3) We are 4 Debian developers here. Let me know if You need some help.

Ghemical has not, until recently, built with internationalization in mind, so this will need some arrangements.
Also ghemical depends on libghemical, which needs changes too.

But I have planned a solution, and it looks good to me (it will solve the libghemical problem as well).
However, I still need to do some learning and testing myself, and I would like to do the initial, or "template"
-solutions myself. Then I make them public, and after that it's easier to divide the work to many developers.

>From now on I will make a weekly "report" about progress in this internationalization effort.

Right now I have the configuration problems solved, and I need to inspect some translated programs
(gchempaint for example) and see how everything works. Haven't done it yet, but thanks for your many
replies and advice on my questions.

Happy weekend to everybody,
Tommi
