I was in touch with the Pasteur group a few months ago
regarding Pise.

According to the admins at Pasteur (then), Pise simply
generates the HTML and CGI parts that are displayed at
http://bioweb.pasteur.fr.  Since I haven't looked at the
new release, I cannot say if it has changed.

Bioweb runs on 3 DECalphas (2 duals), with a DEC queuing
system called LSF.  They distinguish between 2 types of
access - internal and external.  Internal jobs run with
an interactive priority while external jobs are limited
to a fixed number and run with a lower priority.
