The Columbia Genome Center (CGC) and the Department of Medical Informatics (MI) are jointly recruiting an expert in computational genomics/bioinformatics to apply for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position (depending upon qualifications). Applicants should have a PhD, or MD/PhD, in medical informatics, computer science, or a closely related field, and minimum of 5 years further experience in the area of computational molecular biology, with significant achievements in computational biology, medical informatics, or computer science. Candidate should have outstanding academic credentials and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the graduate level. The successful candidate will serve as Head of both the informatics section of the CGC and the bioinformatics section in MI. The candidate will be expected to build and lead a research program and faculty in computational biology that spans molecular biology, medical informatics, and computer science. The appointee will also be responsible for academic duties associated with graduate level programs.
