AUTHORS *WAS* not present in peep and dl.  I just added them, so the warning
should not appear again.

These are in the dl and bl configure.in files.  They don't appear anywhere
else.  There are other GNOME_ directives, but they don't produce a warning. 
I'm not familiar with autoconf, so I can't be of much more help.

None of these warnings prevent me from building Piper.  Are you unable to
continue with the build?
