Dear Eric,

Thank you for your enthusiastic support.
You are correct. DOI only publications will report as unknown.
I need to improve this between other aspects.

In the meantime your approach is perfect: to enter by hand the
reference. I expect to have a better version of the extension 
soon.

Once done we could document this in Proteopedia.
