Talk:Main Page

Where is the Main Page for this wiki? I know you want to funnel people back onto the 'site proper', but having a big friendly link on the wiki main page would be the way to do it. Perhaps its just habit, but I find it hard to navigate the wiki without a main page. In general I expect a nice summary page pointing at all the various resources on the wiki to be somewhere easy to reach. --Dan 02:45, 22 November 2007 (EST)

Yes, we are trying to have the wiki.- and edu.- subdomains point elsewhere when there are no subdirectories specified. The motivation is integration: the purpose of this wiki is to be an extension of the main site and not to be a site on its own. The theme doesn't show it yet, but that will be changed someday. --Jeff 14:42, 14 December 2007 (EST)
I find it very hard to discover content on this wiki site without a 'Main Page' anchor. I would create a main page and add a massive link to www.bioinformatics.org on that page. --Dan 07:47, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
How so? Do you click on the logo expecting to be brought to a table of contents? Or are you looking for a link specifically named "Main Page" on the left menu? Maybe we can create a "Main Wiki Page" link. Jeff 19:42, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
