FAM90A1 gene, corresponds to the "Family with sequence similarity 90", and belongs to a multi-copy primate specific gene family. FAM90A1 is located on human chromosome 12p13.31, while the rest of the members, up to 24 according to the human reference assembly, are distibuted along the human 8p23.1 region.
