    Category:
    Getbirch
    Priority:

    Ticket group:
    Bug
    Resolution:
    Resolved
    Summary:
    Memory consumption
    Original submission:
Currently, getbirch is hogging a lot of heap to do the installation.

This needs to be reduced by decompressing the tar folders individually.

Cleaning up the birch framework source will also help ameliorate this problem.

This problem has been fixed by individually extracting each framework component. It is substantially slower, but this implementation allows for more verbosity and also allowed for a progress bar to be implemented.

Further testing is required to ensure that the fix applies to all systems.
