Summary:
Package Installation - Bad Disk Order
|
Original submission:
I tried installing biobrew tonight on my 2 machine test cluster and I ran into one major problem which was enough for me to call off the installation - out of sequence disk swapping.
Everything worked good for the first 20 minutes (slow CD rom) as disk 1 installed its pakcages, but shortly thereafter I must have swapped between disk 1,2 and 3 at least 20+ times before giving up with 430MB left to install. If I had 3 CD ROM's in my master node I wouldn't care, but I couldn't be bothered to complete the installation swapping in some cases after the installation of just a single package before it demanded some other CD.
I didn't much in the way of unusual packages either, I think I added mysql, octave and a few other things but that's it.
