BACKGROUND
The Case Center for Proteomics, a state-of-the art proteomics facility at Case Western Reserve University has Post-Doctoral and permanent research staff positions in Computer Science and Bioinformatics available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Post-Doctoral and staff scientists will participate in developing new databases and algorithms for analyzing proteomics data from both 2-D gels and LC-MS platforms, will participate in bioinformatics tasks related to the NIH funded Protein Structure Initiative (http://www.psi.org), will participate in development of new computing clusters and other hardware for the center, and will be involved in computational structural biology modeling projects. Relevant recent publications from the center include: (Gupta, Mangel et al. 2004; Guan and Chance 2005; Shi, Zhan et al. 2005; Mukherjee, Mohamed et al. 2006; Takamoto and Chance 2006).
REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates should possess a M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, genetics, or other relevant fields.
