    DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for comparative analysis of rice genome sequences, developing tools for data mining and visualization, integrating sequence information with other biological data. The resulting knowledge base will be used for generating and testing hypotheses in gene function, multi-loci trait associations, building computational models for predicting traits from genome sequences. The job assumes proactive interaction with breeders and molecular biologists and will ideally result in initiating new experiments towards rice improvement.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze NGS data to identify genome variations
    • Develop and improve pipeline for NGS data analysis
    • Integrate genomic data from different sources (i.e. genotyping chip, RNA-Seq, etc)
    • Integrate genomic data with other datasets (Pathways, Go, gene expression, etc.)
    • Address ad hoc requests for bioinformatics analysis from molecular biologists and breeders
    • Prepare scientific publications

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD in Computer Science, (Bio) Statistics, Bioinformatics or related fields
    • Programming, SQL, Statistics, algorithm development
