BACKGROUND

Join a dynamic team of bioinformaticians and software developers that are creating an advanced cancer diagnostics platform based on next-generation sequencing technologies. We employ the latest web-based development technologies, using primarily Python and Django, and the Agile Scrum software development framework to quickly respond to customers' demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in hands on testing and bug reporting on key features, content and display attributes of executions
  • Maintaining and evolving QA test processes to aid in high quality and timely releases
  • Develop thorough test plans and test cases based on requirements and ensure that they are followed
  • Work with Project management and Development teams to keep on top of requirements and development deliverables
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases
  • Identify and help to best automate test cases to help speed up QA cycles
  • Report and prioritize outstanding bugs on a regular basis
  • Reproduce reports from other team members and file standardized reports
  • Verify that all performance and scalability requirements of executions have been met

REQUIREMENTS

The QA Software Tester requires a solid grounding in Bioinformatics, web technologies, the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects, and excellent teamwork skills. The position with require the employee to play a lead testing role, manage testing efforts, and work directly with software engineers and project managers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent amount of experience.
  • Experience with Bioinformatics and especially with Python and NGS data analysis is important
  • Familiar with Web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Details-oriented who can also work under pressure
  • Experience providing QA for large scale Web-based programs (extra credit)
  • Experience using bug tracking, project management tools
  • Familiar with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Out-of-the-box thinker
