    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job Summary/Basic Function:
    A translational data analysts/scientist will assist with data analysis, modeling, visualization, interpretation and quality control of clinical and basic science data. Translating large data into knowledge. Specific duties will include dataset clean-up/QC for data analysis and database translation, data visualization and presentation, and assistance with data workflow automation and process development. Opportunities to also work on project-specific analyses and to assist with manuscript preparation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science or Physical/Biological sciences with additional training/certificates in bioinformatics/clinical informatics or 2 years of relevant experience to include programming or combination of education and experience or training in data modeling, data structures, database design, database implementation and SQL. Must have strong documentation skills and be detail oriented. Strong analytical and customer service skills a must. Must have the ability to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Must be independent as well as team oriented and dependable. Willingness to assist with manuscript and grant preparations required.

    Minimum Degree Required: Bachelors Degree

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical or Biological Sciences or related field with relevant programming experience preferred. Skills to train others in information system or database use preferred. Prefer experience with and/or exposure to biomedical research and/or clinical research. Statistical analysis (case-control, genetic, genomic, proteomic, biomarker identification, cluster analysis, data modeling) background also preferred.

    Physical Demands:
    Regularly moves about the work environment, talks, hears and listens. Occasionally lifts or moves up to 10 pounds. Requires the ability to see. The noise level and typical work conditions are consistent with an office environment.
