Software: Open Discovery: An integrated bioinformatics Linux distribution
Submitted by kalabharath; posted on Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Open Discovery is an advanced form of live Linux that has been developed for bioinformaticians. It has integrated various fields of bioinformatics tools including: sequence analysis, phylogenetic analysis, molecular modelling, molecular dynamics, docking and much more.

Open Discovery is capable of booting from USB drives and the changes persist over reboot, i.e you can modify and store data within the USB-drive.
Also Open Discovery is capable of running Tools Designed for Windows (no need to bother about compatibility any more).

    AVAILABILITY

It is now available for free of download at http://www.opendiscovery.org.in

If you like it, you can install the entire linux to your hard disk and the installation doesn't even take more than 5 min!
