Hi Jose,

I can't offer an explanation of why they disappeared other than to say
KDE does strange things at times.

To refresh the menus you might try the command "update-menus" from a
terminal.  This should rebuild the menus from the entries in /etc/menu.  

If this doesn't work let me know off the list.
