ReLyX comes standard with the latest version of LyX and is how LaTeX "imports" are handled. I don't know how well it works. (BTW, LyX was considering using LaTeX as its file format - no import/export and no .lyx files.) I am in the same boat with Jarl regarding command-based text formatting systems like LaTeX/TeX and DocBook: They would take too long for me to learn, and I have many other things to do :-) So, I would prefer something with a GUI front like LyX.
