HELP This dialog allows to perform string replacements in many annotations of residue selections at once.

Introduction: Often, it is necessary to change identical annotations in several residue selections. This is for example the case if associated 3D-rendering commands of many residue selections, each representing a mutation of the protein, should be changed. For larger number of residue selections it is tedious to perform the changes individually for each residue selection. This dialog facilitates manipulation of many residue selections.

First the annotation type like "Remark" or "Note" needs to be specified in the choice menu. In the alignment panel the annotations need to be selected. Selected annotations have WIKI:marching_ants. All residue selections with annotations of the selected type appear in the table. In the first and second row the search strings and replacements are typed. The preview of the string replacements is immediately shown in the table.

There are three options:

1. Pressing BUTTON:DialogResidueAnnotationChanges#BUT_LAB_Replace changes the selected entries.
2. Pressing BUTTON:DialogResidueAnnotationChanges#BUT_LAB_Add keeps the old entry and generates a further one.
3. Pressing BUTTON:DialogResidueAnnotationChanges#BUT_LAB_Kill deletes the entries.

Note capturing groups in Java WIKI:Regular_expressions: Groups are captured with parenthesis and not backslash parenthesis. The captured groups can be references by dollar-sign-number. Related dialogs: Frequently it is necessary to add identical entries to a number of selections. For this task the dialog ITEM:AddAnnotation is easier to use. It is found in the context menu.

To activate or deactivate annotations of a residue selections, use the dialog ITEM:ActivateDeactivate SEE_CLASS:ResidueAnnotation SEE_CLASS:ResidueAnnotationView
