Hi,
certainly, you can help. This project is under development (heavy development actually). However, if you look at the polyxmass's homepage, you'll see that polyxmass is a rewrite of polyXmass.
While polyXmass has a rather complete documentation (large LaTeX file), polyxmass lacks one.
Would you like to try breaking that LaTeX file into different parts, reflecting the new organization of the polyxmass software suite, with respect to the monolithic polyXmass program?
For example, you may extract from the big LaTeX file all the polymer chemistry tutorial chapters and make a tutorial file. Same for the polymer chemistry definition chapters, to put into another manual for polyxdef module of polyxmass... and so on with polyxedit and polyxcalc.
When you have finished breaking that big LaTeX file into parts, I'll review the docs and integrate each file in the related module.
If you do not want to contribute documentation, and you know biochemistry well, there is something interesting to think about: the problem of sulfide bridges inside a polymer sequence. While this is something that can easily be dealt with in case of full polymer cleavage, it becomes a daunting algorithmic task, as soon as partial cleavages are involved.
Just ideas, ...
Filippo
