RESPONSIBILITIES
The Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics, part of the College of Computing and Informatics at UNC-Charlotte invites applications for a Biostatistician, Research Assistant Professor to be a part of the Bioinformatics Services Division. The individual accepting this position will use biostatistics and bioinformatics approaches to analyze diverse high-dimensional molecular datasets and work in collaboration with other faculty and industry partners on the NCRC and greater Charlotte region. They will also periodically teach statistics to graduate or undergraduate students.
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified candidates will be quantitatively inclined, have demonstrable experience with statistical data analysis through work experience and/or publication record, be comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team, and have excellent communication skills.
- The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field.
TERMS
This is a non-tenure track 12-month faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor.

LOCALE
UNC-Charlotte's Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics program encompasses two major sites. In addition to a brand new $35M state-of-the art bioinformatics building on the University's main campus, the Center has the leadership role in bioinformatics for the nearby North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) at Kannapolis (http://www.ncresearchcampus.net). The NCRC is a $1.5B, 350-acre biotechnology research park that is home to the research programs of a large number of private biotechnology companies, as well as those of seven NC research universities and several health care organizations.
