    DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Director, Program on Health Informatics

    Position Summary:
    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in collaboration with the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute are seeking a Director for a newly established Program on Clinical and Health Informatics. This position will be expected to "build a premier program in clinical informatics including teaching and research". A generous start-up package is offered to enable the successful candidate to recruit additional faculty positions and to develop junior faculty.

    We seek applicants at the associate professor or higher level with familiarity and background in clinical and health informatics. He/she will have a strong record of external grant funding and publications. The candidates are expected to be a physician with expertise and experience in the research and training in clinical and health informatics. Management experience will be helpful. There is a strong need to advance the science of informatics and support multiple initiatives requiring sophisticated informatics solutions, including clinical and translational research and health care models. Appointment and faculty rank in an academic department will be determined by the applicant's qualifications and experience. Position will remain open until filled.     REQUIREMENTS

    • Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD or equivalent degree.
    • Candidates must have relevant experience in the design and implementation of information systems that support clinical quality improvement and/or clinical and translational research.
