This individual will manage resources to achieving project goals in time and within budget. This individual will provide to the ABPDU bioproduct recovery and protein purification team expertise applied to process transfer for other laboratories/industry, adaptation, development and demonstration of processes for recovery of biofuels and chemicals to develop biorefineries from diverse feedstocks and for the purification processing enzymes. This position will be involved in designing, preparing documentation (SOPs, Batch Records), selecting and maintaining equipment and development of methods together with the analytical team to monitor product quality from biomass/fermentation to final product and all chemical used in recovery and purification activities. Additional research goals include developing and applying bioprocess engineering tools for bioproduct recovery/protein purification technology development and demonstration. The incumbent will also write reports and publications, and help author grant and patent applications.

Reporting to the ABPDU Program Manager, this position will manage the day-to-day research activities of the bioproduct recovery/protein purification group including staff training and work oversight responsibilities.
