Opportunity: Manager/Director, Software Engineering @ Nodality -- South San Francisco, CA (US)
Submitted by David Spellmeyer; posted on Wednesday, May 15, 2013
BACKGROUND
Nodality is looking for an individual who is motivated to apply his/her expertise to lead software tool development in the high-impact area of personalized medicine. You will be part of a team that is working to make a difference in the lives of patients by advancing research and clinical biology to individualize medicine.
Our proprietary Single Cell Network Profiling (SCNP) technology quantifies intracellular protein activity within individual cells in a high content and high throughput format. We have developed robust and reproducible assays that quantify intracellular network responses for systems biology research. We apply this technology to understanding diseases and new therapeutics, with the aim of developing highly predictive algorithms for patient stratification and therapeutic treatment selection. This approach interrogates cell signaling networks and pathways downstream of SNPs, gene and protein expression, providing an integrated, functionally relevant view of disease biology.
Nodality offers a rich environment in which you will make key contributions to designing and building Nodality's software suite of tools used in generating, organizing and analyzing SCNP data. You will have the opportunity to work with, and learn from, world-class experts in a wide range of disciplines including, biology, computational sciences and translational medicine.
Nodality's Lab Informatics platform includes tools used by biologists, clinical scientists, and laboratory specialists to manage reagents, patient samples, experimental setup, and data analysis. The platform uses a combination of Web technologies, including Django, and JavaScript/d3. Agile practices are used to develop software in close collaboration with end users using both in-house and off-shore resources with rapid release cycles. This platform has enabled increased efficiencies in all phases of generating data from experimental planning to execution and analysis. Your efforts will be key in enabling scientific discovery through improving the SCNP process and creating new capabilities in data analysis and interpretation.
