BACKGROUND

The Quantitative Biomedical Research Center (QBRC) at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Java Web Application Engineer. The QBRC – supported by various research grants, the Department of Clinical Sciences, the Cancer Center, and the University – is an open, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary research center created to organize projects in the field of Medicine, Bioinformatics, and Biostatistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Web Application Engineer, you will plan, design, develop, test, and deploy Web applications and RESTful Web services in our Agile environment. You will help us manage our continuous integration environment (Jenkins), and you will collaborate with our small team of developers using Git.

REQUIREMENTS

Associate's Degree and 2 years of technical skill responsibilities. Experience in the following competencies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Web Services, Frameworks, SQL. Strong database skills with MySQL/Oracle/SQL Server, MVC, DAO.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.

PREFERENCES

Bachelor's degree and experience with dependency injection, Hibernate, REST services, JSON, JQuery, Groovy, and single-sign-on technologies. Experience in a Linux server environment.
