Opportunity: Lead Bioinformatics Architect (NoSQL and cloud technologies) (#45009) @ SRA International -- Rockville, MD (US)

RESPONSIBILITIES
SRA International, a leader in providing bioinformatics services to the Federal Government, is seeking a Lead Architect to work with the team to finalize the architecture and design of the Genome Data Commons project using NoSQL and cloud technologies. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining architecture and roadmap documents and contributing to the development and testing strategies for the final solution. The Lead Architect may prepare and present briefings for the client.
Other responsibilities:
- Serves as technology and process expert in product integration and implementation.
- Ensures compliance with best practices including adherence to federal IA standards.
- Collaborates with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure designs conform to best-in-class architecture and business standards.
- Develops robust and scalable solutions to support the business needs.
- Applies new industry and technology trends to solve business problems.
- Identifies critical path decisions, makes recommendations, and influences program leaders and business process owners to maximize project value.
- Participates in the preparation of long-range systems plans and ensures that they are in concert with business objectives and goals.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors and 10 years or Masters degree and 6+ years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- The Lead Architect shall have a Master or Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (bioinformatics, computer science, or related fields).
- Experience in the NoSQL technologies and the complex architecture used on the project and in designing systems with large data sets and many interfaces.
PREFERENCES
- Experience with Python, NoSQL databases, and AWS.
