Opportunity: Assistant Professor in Systems Biology of Plant-Microbe Interactions (#131417) @ Iowa State University -- Ames, IA (US)

OVERVIEW
A cluster of twelve faculty positions in the strategically important area of Big Data is included among 29 Presidential High Impact Hires at Iowa State University. As part of this initiative, the Plant Pathology & Microbiology Department invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the area of Systems Biology of Plant-Microbe Interactions.
We seek a creative individual with expertise in utilizing multidimensional experimental datasets to investigate previously unanswerable questions in pathogenic or symbiotic interactions between any type of microbe and its plant or plant-associated host(s). The incumbent will test hypotheses at multiple levels, integrating biochemical, synthetic, computational, and omics approaches. Applicants with computational and experimental expertise may apply their skills to any aspect of Big Data relevant to plant-microbe interactions.
The successful candidate will establish an internationally recognized, externally-funded research program, teach in her or his area of expertise, and foster a culture of inclusion. Applications from women and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged.
