    BACKGROUND

    We are hiring for a senior bioinformatics role at an exciting stealth Silicon Valley startup, operating at the intersection of big data and genomics. This early-stage role allows entrepreneurial talent to shape and grow the computational biology needs of the company. The company is well-funded and growing rapidly.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or equivalent
    • Extensive experience with NGS technologies, sequence analysis tools, and public biological databases
    • Strong scripting skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Unix/Linux shell
    • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and bioinformatics algorithms
    • Strong skills in C++, object-oriented design and cloud-computing is strong plus.
    • Highly self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Startup interest and/or experience a plus
