    GENEWIZ is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Comprehend project objectives, set priorities and evaluate informatics solutions
    • Develop and implement bioinformatics analyses, applications, and workflows to grow our translational genomics and bioinformatics capabilities
    • Work collaboratively with other BI team members to establish effective processes, database systems and informatics platforms
    • Integrate statistical analysis and clinical interpretations to clinical services
    • Work closely with IT specialists to build robust infrastructure
    • Guide and support bench scientists to boost productivity

    REQUIREMENTS

    • M.S. in Bioinformatics or related discipline, with 1-3 years of experience required
    • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or related discipline, with 0-2 years of experience preferred
    • Essential knowledge of key biological processes and NGS technology, cancer genomics research experience desired
    • Concrete bioinformatics skills in analysis of data from various omic platforms
    • Experience in next generation sequencing data analysis
    • Familiarity in applying statistical approaches to NGS data interpretation
    • Strong background in software development on Linux system
    • High programming proficiency in Java, Perl or Python
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrate initiative in experimenting with new technologies
