    SUMMARY

    Programmer desired with experience analyzing biological data, and communicating with biologist colleagues to develop new software.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Knowledge of an object oriented programming language like Java/Ruby/Python. Must have experience in R, MATLAB or equivalent software for statistical analysis. Experience programming in a Unix environment, and the ability to use a scripting language such as Perl/Awk/Bash is highly desirable, as is the ability to use Ruby on Rails or Django to create web applications/interfaces. Ability to use SQL, or knowledge of equivalent programming libraries to access SQL databases is required. Excellent English oral and written communications required.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Background analyzing biological datasets, with a strong emphasis in genetics, and sequence analysis. To that end an advanced degree either in Bioinformatics, Genetics, or Biology, (or equivalent work experience in these fields) as well as having a strong background in programming. Knowledge of an object oriented programming language like Java/Ruby/Python. Must have experience in R, MATLAB or equivalent software for statistical analysis. Experience programming in a Unix environment, and the ability to use a scripting language such as Perl/Awk/Bash is highly desirable, as is the ability to use Ruby on Rails or Django to create web applications/interfaces. Ability to use SQL, or knowledge of equivalent programming libraries to access SQL databases is required. Excellent English oral and written communications required.

    TERMS

    Background investigations are required for all new hires as a condition of employment, after the job offer is made. Employment will be contingent upon the University's acceptance of the results of the background investigation.
