    BACKGROUND

Bioinformatics postdoctoral positions are available immediately at Boston University and McGill University, in the group of Prof. Yu (Brandon) Xia. The first position is based in the Bioinformatics Program at Boston University (http://people.bu.edu/yuxia), and the second position is based in the Department of Bioengineering at McGill University (http://bioinfo.lab.mcgill.ca).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

The research focus will be on computational structural and systems biology. Specific projects include, but are not limited to: computer modeling of proteomes and interactome networks with high spatial and temporal resolutions; biophysical, structural and evolutionary principles of proteomes and interactome networks; systems biology analysis of human disease.

    REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidates would have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational or evolutionary biology, computer science, statistics, quantitative science or engineering, and have good programming skills. Experience with computational genomics, protein bioinformatics and machine learning is a plus.

    LOCALE

Both Boston and Montreal are major hubs for biomedical research. There are ample opportunities for synergistic interactions with world-class biomedical researchers in these areas.

    HOW TO APPLY

To apply, please forward a CV with a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and the names and email addresses of 2-3 references to Dr. Yu (Brandon) Xia at brandon.xia[at]gmail.com
