    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key job responsibilities include:
    • Computational analysis and modeling of microbial systems biology experiments, including integration and interpretation of -omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, fluxomics) in combination with fermentation and functional annotation meta-data.
    • Identify key trends, networks and patterns in data and integrate with microbial physiology expertise to generate hypotheses.
    • Collaborate with scientists to generate leads and guide experimentation for hypothesis testing and validation.
    • Monitor emerging computational and data analysis technologies to accelerate program objectives and translate leads into actionable research activities.
    • As driven by project needs, build and sustain a technical network (internally and externally) that is deployed to ensure project success.

    REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or an M.S. with equivalent work experience in systems biology, biochemical engineering, bioinformatics, microbiology, statistics, computational biology, or a closely related field. Applicants should have a statistics or mathematics background and at least one degree in a data analysis field or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of microbial physiology and analyzing complex systems biology data sets for applications such as targeted strain engineering is essential.
