BACKGROUND

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain existing bioinformatics software packages
• Develop and implement bioinformatics software to support the needs of all business lines
• Analyze bioinformatics data based on clients' requirements and provide reports
• Work with IT team members to provide technical and scientific support on bioinformatics, and link bioinformatics software into our information technology platform
• Work with other departments to understand the business requirements and implement efficient bioinformatics algorithms
• Learn new technologies in bioinformatics and genomics, and educate the team in order to keep GENEWIZ's leading position in the industry

REQUIREMENTS

• M.S. in Bioinformatics with 2-5 years of experience required
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics with 1-3 years of experience preferred
• High programming proficiency in .NET and C/C++
• Essential programming knowledge in Java, Perl and Python
• Background in software development on Linux system
• Understand the basics of software development life cycle
• Essential knowledge of key biological processes and genomics technology, including gene sequencing and gene synthesis
• Concrete bioinformatics skills in analysis of data from various bioinformatics platforms
• Experience in bioinformatics data analysis. Familiarity in applying statistical approaches to genomics data interpretation
• Demonstrate initiative in learning and implement new technologies
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential
