Senior Group Leader - Computational Immunology/Human Genetics

RESPONSIBILITIES

Genentech is seeking an outstanding scientist to lead a research group in computational biology with a focus on Immunology, inflammatory disease or closely related fields. We have a particular interest in areas of host-pathogen interactions, systems immunology, microbiomics, tumor immunology, and human genetics. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to lead a highly talented group of scientists as well as an independent research program in an exceptional scientific environment. The group works in close collaboration with immunology discovery and diagnostics, human genetics and other research groups. The selected candidate will collaborate on programs in areas from pre-clinical target identification, biomarker discovery, through to clinical validation and will make substantial contributions to addressing major human health problems.

REQUIREMENTS

The desired candidate will have a PhD with substantial additional research and group leader experience. He/she should also have a strong background in immunology, human genetics or related fields. The desired candidate is a recognized scientific leadership as evidenced by publications, high profile presentations, and/or leadership of consortia. The candidate will also have significant experience managing and mentoring a team of scientists doing cutting edge research. Candidates whom have designed and driven innovative research programs in bioinformatics/computational biology and are encouraged to apply to continue making similar significant contributions to our immunology program.
