    BACKGROUND

    Quanticel Pharmaceuticals is a privately held drug discovery company committed to the development of breakthrough medicines for the treatment of cancer. Quanticel's proprietary platform for single-cell genomic analysis of human cancer is designed to enable the discovery of first-in-class oncology therapeutics.

    Quanticel seeks an outstanding individual to join a vibrant interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers to develop and facilitate interpretation of single cell analyses comprised of multiplex PCR, ChIP-seq, exome-seq, low-pass genome sequencing, and expression profiling of various tumor models from microarrays and RNA-seq. This opening starts as a 6-month contractor position with an option to extend.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Adapt or develop analytical algorithms to facilitate interpretation of assays
    • Implementation or adapting next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis pipelines to identify variants, indels and CNVs from DNA- and RNA-seq data
    • Interact with internal scientists and collaborators to ensure scientific relevance of data analysis and interpretation

    REQUIREMENTS

    • B.S. or higher degree in Bioinformatics or a related field, including biological sciences, statistics, computer science, or mathematics
    • 2+ years working experience in Bioinformatics and NGS analysis

    PREFERENCES

    • Understanding and hand-on experience in biostatistics and bioinformatic algorithms
    • Experience with building/running NGS pipelines on Amazon EC2
    • Proficiency in R, Perl, Python, Unix/Linux utilities
    • Experience with PCR and NGS technologies and sequence analysis tools
    • Good understanding biochemistry, genetics and epi-genetics
    • Highly self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and documentation skills, thorough and detail-orientated
