Four leading researchers in bioinformatics at the University of California, San Diego, briefed local biotech executives on July 17. Now streaming video of the presentations and a digest of their remarks on "Bioinformatics: Breakthroughs in San Diego," are available online. To view them, visit:

Some 220 executives from San Diego's biotech industry attended the meeting sponsored by BIOCOM/san diego and the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, a joint venture of UCSD and UC Irvine.
Streaming video and downloadable presentation graphics are available for:
- Peter Arzberger, director of UCSD's Life Sciences Initiative and deputy leader of Cal-(IT)²'s layer on digitally enabled genomic medicine (DEGeM);
- Shankar Subramaniam,professor of bioengineering and director of UCSD's new graduate research program in bioinformatics in the Jacobs School of Engineering;
- Andrew McCulloch, professor of engineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering; and
- Adam Godzik of the Burnham Institute and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (part of UCSD).
