Bioclues Innovation, Research and Development (BIRD) award for the year 2014 goes to Dr. Vinod Scaria. Vinod was chosen among several young scientists screened and nominated across India.

"Vinod has a unique blend of a medical background and a prolific interest in Bioinformatics. His flair for community services, open access research, and a huge list of publications stand tall for the award," say the reviewers in the advisory committee.

The award will be given in a conference held at IMTECH, Chandigarh during November 27-29, 2014.

Bioclues initiated the BIRD awards in 2011 to encourage budding bioinformaticists in India who have made outstanding contributions in the area of Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics.
