    SUMMARY

    This position will have overall responsibility for PPI (Continuous Improvement) activities for the Thermo Fisher BPP (Bio Processing Production) operations. The overall purpose of this position is to drive, deploy and manage all PPI initiatives at the BPP level. This position will work closely with the divisional PPI leader to deploy an operating system within the site that is consistent with other BID sites and with meeting business objectives. This position will report solid line to the BPP Director of Operations with a "dotted line" relationship to the BID PPI Leader. The primary measure of success in this position will be the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan's PPI savings target. Other success factors will be coordination and tracking of projects and savings, the ability to manage the PPI steering team, and coaching and mentoring teams within the site.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deploy PPI and Lean ManufacturingEnterprise initiatives within the site.
    • Provide leadership in the areas of PPI and Lean by mentoring site teams to deliver results.
    • Assist in developing site improvement goals and objectives and coordinate and champion activities to meet or exceed those goals.
    • Coordinate the measurement, tracking and reporting of PPI savings impact for site.
    • Lead periodic site continuous improvement reviews both internally and for regional roll up.
    • Partner with site leadership team to foster ownership and buy in of CI activities within the site.
    • Train site resources in the areas of PPI and Lean Enterprise implementation.
    • Create contingency plans where needed to ensure achievement of site PPI targets.
    • Become the "resident expert" for all Continuous Improvement activities within the site.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 5+ years experience driving continuous improvement within a lean program
    • BS/BA degree
    • Proficient computer skills with a desired knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Experience driving performance and results from lean programs with functional teams
    • Experience driving, presenting and reporting on the value stream, key metrics and tear boards process
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on coaching and influencing others
    • A sincere belief in the viability of continuous improvement and the ability to communicate and demonstrate this to others

    PREFERENCES

    • A graduate degree, preferably and MBA
    • Experience with continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment
    • A solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing/Enterprise philosophies
    • Oracle experience
    • Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or Lean certification
    • Previous experience in a leadership role
