    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Biostatistician will be a highly motivated Computational Biologist pursuing research projects in collaboration with bench biologists; and will work with an interdisciplinary team carrying out high throughput data analysis and data integration across various domains to develop novel methods for genomic data analysis. The duties will include, but are not limited to: performing bioinformatics analysis of genomic data and assisting others in interpretation of analyzed data; conceiving and developing algorithms and analytic approaches for genomic data analysis and integration; solving challenges and implementing solutions in usable software; establishing procedures and work-flow for routine data analysis; proficiently utilizing web resources such as Entrez, RefSeq, GEO and Blast, visualization tools, genome assemblies and other available software; providing clear and concise professional reports on data analysis and results; and other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum:
    • MS/PhD from an accredited college or university in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Genomic Medicine or similar and a minimum of one year of relevant experience
    • Strong publication record
    • Experience in computer programming; knowledge and use of biological software required
    • Theoretical knowledge of genetics, epigenetics, statistics, and molecular biology
    • Extensive experience with gene-expression microarray and proteomics data
    • Proficiency in a high-level statistical language such a R or SAS
    • Fluency with "Bioconductor" packages for microarray data analysis
    • Strong logic, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Experience in database management, server management, and web-based programming
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently; complete work assignments; meet deadlines; and make responsible sound decisions
    • Must be observational and detail-oriented
    • Maintain confidentiality

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience in statistical consulting and data management

    COMPENSATION

    Salary: $48,341/Annual
    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate.
    Excellent benefits package (includes tuition reimbursement).
