BACKGROUND

The department of Bioinformatics and Genomics at the University of North Carolina Charlotte seeks a post-doctoral fellow in the area of microbial genomics and metagenomics. This position will join an on-going research effort focused on utilizing next-generation sequencing to understand how individual pathogens and the microbial community impact human health and disease.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Microbiology or a related field. Some experience writing bioinformatics scripts is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in the analysis of 16S rRNA and whole-genome metagenome shotgun sequences.
