The main responsibilities include collaborating with biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to design statistical analyses; perform statistical support to genetic analyses in family, cohort, and case-control studies and to evaluate genetic associations with clinical phenotypes; determine variables to be studied and sample size; discuss statistically valid data collection methods; gathering and analyzing data to yield meaningful conclusions about important questions; assisting with the preparation of statistical analysis plan (SAP). The candidate must be currently living in USA.REQUIREMENTS
- At least Master Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or related field with at least 5 years of related experience
- Extensive experience in statistical classification/supervised learning and feature/variable selection techniques, such as LDA, KNN, and etc.
- Knowledge of biology, such as genetics, genomics, and molecular biology
- Proficient in R
- Experience in programming (Perl, Python, bash, C/C++, or java) and databases in Linux/Unix environment is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with cancer biomarker discovery is a plus.
- Ability to quickly and effectively operate, communicate and influence decision making within cross-functional and multi-disciplinary clinical genetics team
