BACKGROUND
MedGenome Inc is a next generation genomics company with offices in San Francisco and Boston in the US and Bangalore in India and is backed by well-known investors in India and the US. It is a market leader in the clinical genomics space in India and drives research solutions for global biotech and pharma customers in key disease areas such as cancer, ophthalmology, metabolic diseases, neurology and rare diseases.
We are hiring a Senior Bioinformatician to work closely with our global customers to drive the bioinformatics needs for our research solutions. Hands on bioinformatics skills and the ability to understand research complex problems and implement bioinformatics solutions is critical.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand complex research problems and directly implement bioinformatics solutions working with multiple stakeholders and customers
- Run industry standard bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms to analyze high-throughput NGS data
- Develop novel pipelines and tools for data analysis of NGS platforms
- Hands on bioinformatics problem solving on a regular basis
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD degree/Postdoc from a reputable institute in the area of Computer Science/Computational Genomics/Computational Biology/Bioinformatics
- Knowledge of genomics and basics of molecular biology
- Hands-on experience with Next Generation Sequencing analysis
- Strong command of programming languages for data analysis and tool development such as Perl, Php, Python, R, Java, Html, SQL, C++
- Experience with statistical analysis and bioinformatics methods/tools/databases
- Publications and/or other recognitions
- 3-5 years of Industry/Research experience
PREFERENCES
- Knowledge in the area of clinical genomics
